DeGregorio – Sicily

An old country village, borns around a 13^th century  watchtower; a 16^th century  cellar where with ancient techniques they used to produce a delicate and intense wine; a small mill created to cater to the personal needs and finally, at the end of the 17^th century, the birth of a small primary school, with  a few classes, where  young teacher arrived on the backs of horses. This was the reality of  Ragana village (the word comes from the Arabic language “ Ras-hana”,  which means friendship ground) where, taking the spirit of ancient traditions, Ugo Testoni Wine, produced from these lands and vinified in this winery, was known and appreciated throughout the province and beyond.

His daughter Maruzza  and her husband  Ascanio, togheter  with their children, have renovated the old cellar, trying to renew a mythical memory, in the harmonious integration of the past experiences and new wine innovations.
